Cleaning Skin With Oil

September 18th, 2009

I can’t say that I like oil except for my Primrose evening oil, until the day I stumbled across some research that pointed that using different oils on the face has a lot of nutrients to the skin. I became a fan and started my quest for oils that I could try. I came across several grape seed oil, Emu oil, and castor oil there were even more but the list could take days.  My sister uses a oil cleaning method that I thought I could share with you guys today. She claims that oil dissolves oil, that it clears up acne and that it gives the skin a smooth layer.

She uses no soap believe me none! I was disgusted but she uses none.  No moisturizers, creams nothing! just OIL.  She mixes  extra virgin olive oil and castor oil rubs it over her face, takes a hot cloth and wipes the oil off after the oil has had time to penetrate and go into the pores.  Her skin looks amazing I can’t lie to you, so should I try this method not sure if I can go without soap and be as brave as her. Well none the less she hasn’t used soap in 6 months now and her skin has not one stinking blemish so more power to the oil cleaning method!

Rose Oil

September 18th, 2009

I a m going simple tonight with my night cream.  I spent the day playing in my roses.  I like working with my roses.  The fragrance and the beauty of a rose on the vine, bush or stem is simply beautiful.  I am not mush for receiving roses as a gift, Unless they are attacked to a plant to put in my garden.  But I just dearly love roses in my yard.  I have a huge bush that is probably four feet deep by twenty feet log.

This rose bushes is the type that is used for its rose hips.  It is a real treasure if only I can figure out how to use the rose hips.  I know rose hip are used in rose essential oil.  I relay could use them, because rose essential oil is expensive.  That is what I am using for my night cream tonight.  I am using a base of almond oil with a few drop of rose essential oil in it.  Smelling all those roses today inspired me to smell like roses all night.  The smell of roses just makes me feel pretty.  Being out in the sun working all day with sunscreen and dust on my face just makes my face feel dirty and dry.  The rose oil will sooth my face and make it feel supple by morning.

Aloe Vera Fighting Sun Damage

September 14th, 2009

Just back from the store and they had some aloe vera capsules for a good price, claims to be of an organic orgin not sure how well that holds true. But in any case, I plan on giving this a try for my 30s skin. I am to take two a day with a meal, I think I will aim for morning and evening. While I was at whole foods market the lady was telling me that aloe vera is really great for the skin and when taken internal you can see results.

Wish me luck in this journey! While up there I also found some drinkable aloe vera it was a hard decision to decide between capsules or to drink the aloe vera. What made me go for the capsules was the fact that on the back it actual mentioned skin and with the ones that you drink they were leaning more towards the stomach and ulcers and acidity problems. It’s funny because I actual do have a small gastritis issue but I take a product from India for it that keeps the acid down and low and I haven’t had problems with it since taken the stuff. I canno’t stand the taste of aloe vera anyways so I feel happy with my purchase today.

Skincare In 30′s

September 14th, 2009

I have had terrible skin since I was a teenager, and although it went away the horrible teen years of acne and oil gleaming off my face. It came back to haunt me in my 30s and I probably tried everything there is to try. My mother use to tell me growing up do not worry you won’t get pimples in your adult years. WRONG! very wrong, because now its back and in full force. So here I am suffering from acne and dry flaky skin.

The oil is greasy and shiny and very apparent in my Tzone area, the oil patches look like grease if you even blot one just for a second. Iv’e been looking into taking products orally to help with the issue instead of putting it on topical.  I read somewhere about how aloe vera can do miracles for skin that is dry and flaky, oily and even acne. So I might head over to my local whole foods market and see if i can find some information on this and buy a bottle. Aloe vera we know helps sunburns and when taken internal can help with ulcers and other stomach aliments. Is it possible it can cure my 30s mid blues. We shall see.

At Home Face Creams

September 10th, 2009

I found a new recipe for a night cream.  I am going to make it tomorrow and try it tomorrow night.  It is called an apple night cream.  It looks pretty simple.  Apples, olive oil and rose water is all it takes.  First I have to cut the apples in half.  Next remove the skins.  Cut out the core and chop it into small pieces.  Blend the apples in the blender with two cups of olive oil.  (I wonder if I could just use unsweetened applesauce.)

Blend these ingredients on low in the blinder until they are mixed very well.  Turn a small plate upside down in a pot of water.  Put your blinder mixture in a bowl in the water.  Careful not to get any water in it.  Warm the water until the mixture is warm.  Be sure not to cook it.  If you cook it therecipe is ruined.  Cool you mixture.  Once it is cool add the rose water.  Gently mix well until it is all well blended.  Apply before bed.  Store the rest of your night cream in a plastic jar in the fridge.    This night cream is suppose to restore my skins elasticity and make it soft and smooth.  We will see.
